Indian budget hotel operator OYO announced via its Chinese WeChat account that it has formed a strategic cooperation with China’s largest online travel agency Ctrip on traffic exchange, data management, and branding.
OYO said it operates more than 450,000 hotel rooms in 320 cities in China by now, adding that its launch in the country has met needs of the country’s price-conscious consumers. OYO launched in China about one and half years ago and claims it’s already the second-largest hotel group in China.
Ctrip, which owns almost half the shares of Indian online travel company MakeMyTrip, declined to comment when contacted by KrAsia on Monday.
